ELBA 2035: TOWARDS A NEW BEGINNING.

On 26th March, Elba2035 heads towards an even more beautiful and sustainable Island with the last stage of the preparatory work leading to the drafting of the first Elba Sustainability Manifesto.

Promoted by Acqua dell'Elba and coordinated by EY (a global network of professional management consulting services), the long and structured project aimed at listening to and engaging with the territory has involved about 50 selected stakeholders: the island's seven mayors, local representatives of environmental associations, organisations managing territorial and tourist resources, infrastructure companies, cultural associations and schools.

Among them are prominent Italian personalities, including the newly-appointed Minister of Transport in the Draghi cabinet, Enrico Giovannini who immediately supported the project and helped turn it to good effect also thanks to his experience as ASviS (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) spokesperson.

The aim of the last meeting is to finalise the first Elba Sustainability Manifesto, inspiring the implementation of specific projects focused on 3 main topics:

The environment and the charm of the territory:  protecting the sea and adopting an increasingly responsible water and waste management.

Sustainable tourism:  increasing and improving services for the territory, focusing on a sustainability governance and encouraging sustainable and car-free mobility.

Culture, activity & lifestyle: fostering the education, development and training of new generations and enhancing the island's historical and food & wine heritage.
