ISO 45001

Acqua dell’Elba obtained UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification in August 2026, marking the completion of a process that began in 2023.

UNI ISO 45001:2018, “Occupational health and safety management systems — Requirements with guidance for use”, is the first international standard to establish minimum good-practice requirements for protecting workers worldwide. It provides a framework for improving safety, reducing workplace risks and supporting workers’ health and wellbeing, and enables organisations to have their management systems certified under accreditation.

Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), with contributions from experts from more than 70 countries, and adopted nationally by the Italian Standards Body (UNI), it provides an international framework that takes into account the interaction between an organisation and its activities.

Acqua dell’Elba’s Journey

For Acqua dell’Elba, certification formalises a commitment that predates the standard. Occupational health and safety is overseen by a Health and Safety Committee and supported by a network of employees trained in fire prevention, first aid and emergency response, with training and practical instruction renewed annually.

ISO 45001 certification complements ISO 14001 within an integrated Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management System, alongside the company’s work on gender equality and employee wellbeing through its PAS 24000 and UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification programmes.
