Sailing off on that shiny May morning, we surely did not expect that Isola D’Elba’s fresh breeze would take us on such an extraordinary journey.

Through the exhilarating fragrances of the plants of Isola D’Elba and with the caress of the wind filling our sails, our vessel sailed smoothly over a sea ready to reveal its secrets to us.

Destiny brought us to the rock of Paolina, precisely the place where a refined ivory statuette was found in the hull of a 2^nd century vessel: the seal of a bottle containing precious essences.

This was our message in the bottle, gifted to us by the sea.

That was our inspiration; a desire to relive that experience, to create a perfume.

Not just a fragrance, but an essence like no other, the perfume of the sea.

At the end of the ‘90s, in a market dominated by a few, powerful multinationals, starting to manufacture perfume on the Isola D’Elba seemed like an impossible idea. We set aside a thousand fears, we hoisted our main sails and we cast off.

Today Acqua dell'Elba has 32 single-brand shops (27 in Italy and 5 abroad) and a distribution network of more than 1,000 customer perfume stores in Italy and the rest of Europe. The company has its eye on foreign markets to bring the essence of the sea and all its beauty to the rest of the world.

A passion for perfumes and a dream in common: to recreate on Elba island the magic of the Tuscan Renaissance workshop, through the excellence of the best master perfumers. A place where the extraordinary manual abilities of the maestro and his disciples married with a natural propensity towards beauty, a profound knowledge of the arts and culture, and a strong drive towards excellence.
