There is a place where the sea meets the land
An illustrated book born from the imagination and observations of the sea by fifth-grade pupils at the G. Giusti Comprehensive School in Marciana Marina and Marina di Campo. Twenty original stories inspired by the shoreline, the place where the sea meets the land and where every wave leaves behind traces, objects and stories waiting to be discovered.
A purchase that supports schools and the local community. For every copy of Storie in Battigia - Il Respiro del Mare sold at a price of €15.00, Acqua dell’Elba S.r.l. Società Benefit donates €7.93 to the Giuseppe Giusti Comprehensive School. The funds raised are allocated to educational, cultural, artistic and environmental activities and projects for students, with particular emphasis on understanding, protecting and enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the Island of Elba.

"It is through stories, games on the shoreline and moments of silence by the sea that our first emotional, physical and profound connection with this mysterious and captivating environment is formed."
Francesca Santoro — Senior Programme Officer IOC/UNESCO, Ocean Literacy
A Year of Observation, Writing and Active Citizenship
The Blue Schools project was born from a simple idea: bringing the sea into the classroom not merely as a subject of study, but as a direct experience. The shoreline becomes a laboratory.
Objects found along the shore — smoothed, transformed and washed ashore by the water — become a source of reflection and then storytelling. At the end of the journey, every student becomes an author. Of a story, an illustration, a personal perspective on the world around them.

Take Home a True Story
An illustrated book written and drawn by children from the Island of Elba. A testament to how much we can learn simply by observing the sea.
