The 2018 UNI ISO 45001 standard, “Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use”, is the first international standard to define minimum best-practice requirements for protecting workers worldwide.
It establishes a framework for improving safety, reducing workplace risks and enhancing workers’ health and well-being, thereby enabling any organisation that chooses to certify its management system under accreditation to improve its occupational health and safety performance.
Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) with the contribution of experts from over 70 countries, and adopted at national level by the Italian Standards Body (UNI), it therefore provides an international framework that takes into account the interaction between the company and its business.
