Every journey leaves something behind: a meeting, an idea, a story worth telling. The road that leads to the next edition of SEIF, the Sea Essence International Festival, is no different. It is made of experiences, projects and people who share the same horizon: the sea as something to protect, a place for meeting, learning and shared responsibility.
To travel this road together, we created "Mare x SEIF", a special, limited edition of the room fragrance that first set our course, and that has long been one of the clearest expressions of the bond between Acqua dell'Elba and the sea.
From 26 to 28 June, SEIF returns to the Island of Elba to talk about the sea as a fragile, precious ecosystem, one to read and understand through education, research and shared storytelling. Over the years the festival has become a meeting point for researchers, institutions, educators and communities, and each year it shows that talking about the sea, together, is already an act of care.

Together for the sea, with SEIF and the "Mare x SEIF" room fragrance
With "Mare x SEIF" we chose to carry this message beyond the shores of our island, a tangible sign of the values and commitment that guide the daily work of the Fondazione Acqua dell'Elba. This is how the special edition of the 200 ml "Mare" room fragrance came to be: a dedicated design with the SEIF logo engraved on the wooden cap and a custom box that recalls the sea. Inside, a folder made of Posidonia paper holds seven infographics on the 2026 edition of SEIF, the Blue Schools, the Via dell'Essenza, the sustainability results of 2025, the Foundation's initiatives and the Friends of the Foundation project, with details on how to join. A multimedia postcard with a QR code completes the set, linking to photos and videos of the Foundation's work.

The sea and its stories, told by children
"Mare" is the fragrance that has always told the story of Acqua dell'Elba's first journey through the scents and shades of this island: a marine accord, fresh and light, where notes of lemon, rosemary and sea lily meet the woods of the Mediterranean scrub and the salty touches of seaweed and cistus.
In the "Mare x SEIF" edition, the fragrance gives voice to a larger story: the one the Fondazione Acqua dell'Elba carries forward every day through projects such as the Blue Schools, the Via dell'Essenza and SEIF.
This story also belongs to the children of the fifth-grade classes at the G. Giusti primary school on the Island of Elba who, as part of the Blue Schools 2024-2025 project, wrote and illustrated "Storie in Battigia – il Respiro del Mare", a book that gathers twenty stories born from watching the sea. The net proceeds from every copy sold go to the book's young authors: a real recognition for those who learned to look at the sea with new eyes.
