SEIF 2021: the Return of the Festival Dedicated to the Sea and Its Beauty

The 30th of June and the 1st and 2nd of July 2021 will be the days in which the third edition of the Sea Essence International Festival will take place, the first international festival dedicated to the safeguard and development of the sea and its beauty. A safeguard and development of its environment, its biodiversity, of its species and even of its beauty, its history and its contribution to the growth of societies.

SEIF is a holistic event, ranging from reason to emotion, intended to make people think as well as dream, at the same time. Its objective is to celebrate the sea and its beauty through the prism of history, economics, the arts, anthropology, culture, politics, music, cinema and society, following a multidisciplinary approach as varied as are the souls of the sea. Its raison d’être is to “raise awareness by celebrating beauty”.

The 2021 edition will unfold over three days, each dedicated to a specific theme:

- Wednesday 30th of June. Elba 2035. Presentation of the first Sustainability Manifesto for Isola d’Elba;

- Thursday 1st of July. Elba as a “Smart Island” and the environmental transition at sea - Encounter between the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and Legambiente at the headquarters of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park;

- Friday 2nd of July. The Beauty of the Sea as Narrated Through Culture, Media and the Arts. Their role in the construction of a positive collective image for the safeguard and promotion of the sea and its beauty. As well as, more in general, of sustainability.

The novelty of this year will be the media partnership with Rai Radio 2, tasked to dwell upon the themes of the Festival during a series of numerous dedicated moments. All of the appointments will be broadcast live on the official SEIF portal: www.seaessence.eu

The event is organised by Acqua dell’Elba with the support of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, Legambiente, the Associated Management of Tourism, Isola d’Elba, the IULM University and the Brera Academy of Arts.
