LOCAL TERRITORY AND SUSTAINBILITY: TAKE PART IN THE WEBINAR!

As variously mentioned in previous posts, the upcoming 1 st of July will be the date of our webinar entitled “Sustainable Development: How Much Value Resides in Local Territories? A Shared Vision and Co-creation of Local Initiatives for Italy’s Relaunch”. The webinar is open to the general public and completely free: all you have to do to take part is fill in the registration form available at this link.

Acqua dell’Elba has decided to organise this event in partnership with Ernst&Young as part of the route leading to the drafting of a Manifesto for Sustainability of Isola d’Elba, “#Elba2035”. The webinar has also obtained support from ASviS – “Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile” (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development), an organisation currently comprising 270 among the most important institutions and networks of the private sector, the aim of which is to grow
awareness of the importance of Agenda 2030 for sustainable development among Italian society, its economic actors and its public institutions.

Structured as a many-sided debate, the webinar will narrate the contribution local territories and their inhabitants can provide to sustainable development, opening at 11 AM with official greetingsfrom Fabio Murzi – President of Acqua dell’Elba, Riccardo Giovannini – EY Sustainability, and Claudio Della Lucia – Coordinator of the Elba Tourism Department.

Gianni Bottalico, Director of Relations with Regions, Municipalities and Territorial Local Authorities, will kick off the event with a report entitled “Sustainable Development Post-COVID: National and Regional Strategies”. He will be followed by Francesco Petracchini of CNR (Italian National ResearchCentre), Director of the Institute on Atmospheric Pollution and Technical Liaison of the Minor Islands Observatory, who will speak about the topic “Minor Islands and Environmental Sustainability: the Minor Islands Observatory run by CNR-IIA and Legambiente (an Italian environmental NGO)".

Next will be the turn of Ilaria G. Neirotti (EY Sustainability – Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Strategy and Innovation), who will go into the detail of the project she has been leading together with us: Elba 2035: Sustainable Development from Theory to Practice”. To conclude the interventions of our speakers, Fabio Ferrari, Founder and CEO of Energy Way, will relate on “The Energy of Data: Mathematics in Support of Mankind”.

At 12:15, Antonio Lombardo (EY Advisory, Associate Partner, expert on Regional Development and European Cohesion Policies) will introduce the section dedicated to questions and answers. The webinar will be moderated throughout by Norman La Rocca, Marketing, Communications and CSR Director for Acqua dell’Elba.

Keep following us, and in the next few days we will publish more interviews with the “Visionaries” who helped us work on the #ELBA2035 project, for which this webinar represents an important milestone: in the meantime, we shall keep sailing “straight ahead”, on target!
