A FEW TIPS ON HOW TO AIR AND SCENT YOUR HOME
When people share the same environment for a long time, airing the home becomes a necessity which is recommended even by authoritative sources. In a recent article, the Umberto Veronesi Foundation listed the reasons why it is important to constantly renew the air within our homes.
To achieve this goal, a simple, daily gesture is all you need to do: open the windows. Repeated a few times throughout the day for each room, this act allows humidity to escape the room, as well any possibly unwelcome smell or other pathogen released in the air through coughing or sneezing.
International guidelines recommend airing your house at least three times every hour, but even without being so strict, just two or three times a day should be sufficient to feel the benefits of this habit.
The quickest, most effective way to do so is to create the proverbial “draught” of air which is so hated by grandmothers everywhere: to do so, just open for five minutes all of the windows in your home, to create a flux which will allow the stale air to be renewed. In times of quarantine, this is an action that can easily involve those windows that are never opened because they face busy roads, full of traffic.
The rooms you should air most frequently are those where the greatest quantity of humidity is produced, the bathroom and kitchen, as well as those occupied by people showing symptoms of a cold or influenza.
What’s more, a fresh, salubrious home will highlight even more evidently the benefits of the fragrances you picked to create the olfactory décor of each room. Airing your home, therefore, also become a way to benefit from the relaxing aroma of citrus fruits and spiced notes, the freshness of flowers and the marine bouquet of our home fragrance diffusers.
Furthermore, until the 19th of April, if you acquire one of our 500ml home fragrance diffusers with the special #CONILMARENELCUORE lid, you will contribute to the crowdfunding project "Un aiuto all'Isola d'Elba e all'Italia" (“Aid for Isola d’Elba and Italy”): for each purchased home fragrance diffuser, 50% of the proceeds will be used to buy vital medical equipment for the hospital of Portoferraio, and a third of the total funds raised will be devolved to the Protezione Civile to be used for other emergencies on the Italian mainland.
