FIVE PERFECT TRICKS TO IMPROVE YOUR USE OF PERFUME.
Even though for many of us applying perfume is an automatic gesture, there are some simple yet effective tricks we can use to improve such a simple daily activity. Even better, if the perfume is one of Acqua dell’Elba’s fragrances, then you will surely be successful!
TRICK N.1 – HOT BATH OR SHOWER
A hot bath or shower help dilatation of the skin pores, which in turn ensures the skin absorbs the perfume more effectively. The best advice is to use a shower gel and body lotion of the same fragrance of the Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette you have chosen. In this way, the fragrance will be enhanced, increasing its persistence and duration in time. Finally, it is essential to take care when drying one’s self, especially the areas of the body where you intend to apply perfume, as it tends to slide off of moist skin.
TRICK N. 2 – SELECT THE KEY POINTS
In some areas of your body the blood vessels are much closer to the skin and therefore transmit heat more intensely, allowing the molecules in the perfume to release their fragrance more effectively. The perfect spots are knees and elbows, which are always moving, hence they are quicker to warm thus releasing the perfume’s molecules, as well as the neck and collarbone. The perfume should be vaporised directly on these key points, from a distance of 15/18 centimetres. If the skin remains moist after application, the perfume was being held too close.
TRICK N. 3 – FIRST THE PERFUME, THEN THE COTHES
It’s always better to wear your perfume before your clothes, so that its molecules may come into direct contact with the skin, immediately beginning to heat up. After doing so, let the perfume dry for about 10 minutes, then choose the perfume for the evening.
TRICK N. 4 – DO NOT RUB YOUR WRISTS
This is such a common habit that sooner or later we all do it, even though it’s actually really wrong: rubbing your wrists generates too much heat, which decomposes the molecules of your favourite perfume, blunting its fragrance.
TRICK N. 5 – DO NOT EXAGGERATE
Especially if you don’t have much confidence in your perfume yet, for example if you have just chosen a new one, do not exaggerate by applying too much. Rather, bring a little bottle with you to renew the fragrance when you realise it has evaporated. This is also the reason Acqua dell’Elba created the MIA packages: two 15 ml. bottles, one for the home and one to always bring wherever you may go.
