TWO ON A ISLAND: VALENTINE’S DAY AT ELBA

Then, you can admire a bit of the history of the island, maybe in the Napoleonic villa of San Martino taking pictures in the room of the love knot, decorated with the image of two pigeons that move away holding in their beaks the two ends of a ribbon that tighten in an indissoluble bond. If you are more sporty than romantic, you can rent two mountain bikes and ride through the streets of Capoliveri Bike Park.
After admiring the sunset over the sea from Forte Falcone in Portoferraio, it will be time to get ready for a romantic dinner that must absolutely include aleatico: the typical wine of the island that, according to the father of all Italian oenologists Luigi Veronelli, has a taste that is capable of "driving you crazy"…just like love.
It is a must, the evening before your return, to go to the Volterraio fort to admire the spectacle of the starry night and, even if San Lorenzo is still far away, you might be lucky enough to meet a shooting star and you can express your desire to return to the island for your summer holidays.
