SEIF: REAL COMMITMENT BORN FROM LOVE OF THE SEA

The sea is part of our DNA and our fragrances encapsulate its essence: taking care of this immense resource, which gives identity to our planet with its blue colour, is therefore a commitment that is very important to us.

This is why, from its first edition, we are promoters of SEIF – the Sea Essence International Festival, which places the sea and its safeguard at the centre of its stage, every year in Marciana Marina. Last Friday, at the headquarters of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park (in Enfola, Portoferraio) the 2019 event programme was presented to the press: it will take place from the 28thto the 30thof June, but it will also be preceded by some interesting preview events.

SEIF: TWO PREVIEW EVENTS, RICH IN CONTENT

The first SEIF preview will take place on the 29thof May 2019: the Accademia del Bello (“Beauty Academy”) in Poggio will host “The Words of the Sea and Those of Men: a dialogue about Raffaello Brignetti”.

The architect Paolo Ferruzzi and the poet Manrico Murzi will speak about the life of the Strega award-winning author, born on the island of Giglio, and of his works about the sea and its beauty, celebrated through arts and literature.

Additionally, on the 7thof June, the headquarters of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park will host an encounter titled #Elba2035, a moment of study and analysis focusing on how to safeguard the island and its future in terms of ecology, economy and administration, from now to the next 15 years.

SEIF: AN INCREASINGLY AUTHORITATIVE EVENT, YEAR AFTER YEAR

During the three days representing the core of the event, from the 28thto the 39thof June, the stage of Marciana Marina will feature the authoritative voices of prestigious institutions operating in the ambit of environmental, artistic and cultural preservation. The Tuscan Archipelago National Park, which provides the natural backdrop to the event, will be a partner of the event jointly with Legambiente, as a testament to the importance of this commitment to the environment. The Arts Academy of Brera will speak about arts, whilst the IULM university of Milan will be responsible for the section of the event which is devoted to cinema and literature. Radio Monte Carlo will be Media Partner for the whole event, with the presence on the island of our friend Maurizio Di Maggio.

SEIF: A RICH PROGRAMME, ENDING WITH A MUSIC FESTIVAL

Without going into too much detail about the schedule of the event, which is conveniently available by clicking this link, we would like to recall some of the highlights of the festival. During the first evening, Friday the 27thof June, Legambiente will present the draft agreement for an “Elba Island Without Plastic”, followed by IULM university’s deep-dive on the subject of the sea and its relationship with cinema. Saturday the 28thof June the Tuscan Archipelago National Park will moderate a round table dedicated to the issue of marine conservation parks, followed by National Geograhic’s presentation of the most beautiful documentaries concerning the theme of the sea and its preservation. On the last evening (Sunday the 30th) Mauro Ferraresi, IULM University Deputy Dean, will present the book “Racconti Marini” (“Tales of the Sea”), followed by Nick the Nightfly who will provide a musical conclusion to the event. The event will receive appropriate coverage on our social media channels, as well as on those belonging to SEIF – Sea Essence International Festival: remember to follow them in order to be punctually updated!
