GREEN WEEK 2023

From 20th to 26th November, Green Week is back for its fourth edition, organised by the Acqua dell'Elba Benefit Corporation and the Acqua dell'Elba Foundation, a non-profit organisation whose objective is to create value for the Island of Elba by launching projects and/or supporting local ventures in 5 specific areas: environment, education, culture, social/health and art.

During Green Week, we will present the results of the activities carried out so far and those planned by the Acqua dell'Elba Benefit Corporation and Acqua dell'Elba Foundation. Presentation and launch of the "2023-24 Education Project" by the Acqua dell'Elba Foundation. This project consists of two parts: the donation of a total of 100 books per year, of their choice, to the higher education institutions on the Island of Elba and the launch of project work that actively involves the students of the two schools for the entire school year.

The project work focuses on different themes every year and for the academic year 2023-24 the chosen theme is Financial Education, with particular focus on savings management and new forms of digital payment. It is organised in collaboration with The FEDUF and involves the provision of specific training to students during the Civic Education hours, together with the presentation of a final group project. The objective of this year's training is to raise awareness and to educate, using simple language, about a topic which is currently extremely relevant. It is an area which is not offered widely enough in training and is of crucial importance in periods of economic turbulence like the ones we are experiencing.

23rd November, 11.30 - 13.00  - De Laugier Cultural Centre, Portoferraio

Preview presentation of the Italian book “Seafront - Common and extraordinary stories from the ports of Tuscany” by Massimo Canino. The book, which will be officially presented on 28th November at the Senate of the Republic, is the result of the extraordinary sailing trip made by Massimo Canino during the summer of 2023 with his project "Along Tuscany and its Archipelago".

The Acqua dell'Elba Foundation also supported and actively participated in this project through SEIF - its Sea Essence International Festival.

24th November, 9.00 - 18.00

On Friday 24th November, Green Week will move from the Island of Elba to Venice, where the Acqua dell'Elba Foundation will take part in Blue Friday, the event organised by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) as part of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) “to transform the blackest Friday of the year into an opportunity to safeguard and regenerate our Mediterranean Sea”.

The initiative will take place for the second consecutive year in Venice and will be an opportunity to present projects and promote cultural initiatives dedicated to safeguarding the sea and restoring its biodiversity.

Green Box

Green Week is a space dedicated to triple sustainability: environmental, economic and social. It is deliberately held during Black Friday week and aims to offer a different perspective on how to create value for all of us. In order to raise awareness of critical and conscious consumption, Acqua dell’Elba as always, will not be providing discounts on Black Friday.

However, when purchasing Acqua dell'Elba products for a minimum amount of 104 euros, customers will receive the free gift of a “Green Box”, containing a Room Diffuser bottle and a 500 ml refill in a fragrance of their choice, both personalised with the Foundation's logo. The net proceeds of the entire operation will go to support the new projects by the Acqua dell’Elba Foundation.
